Just Crack Some Eggs

Papa G promised me cake.

(Papa G is what I call the Lord.)

The Bible says in Proverbs 11:6, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” So when June 1 was coming up He said, “make a plan for the month and I’ll establish your steps.”

So I did. I made all these plans for what I wanted to accomplish with my ministry and life and who I wanted to be and what I wanted to change and all the things.

And it only took two days for me to get frustrated. 

Papa G sat me down and used a cake metaphor for the situation I had put myself in. 

He said, “You made a plan to have a beautiful cake by the end of the month. But, now, you’re so overwhelmed with questions about: 

How do I make the cake?

Will the cake be done by the end of the month?

Will I ruin the cake?

You’re so overwhelmed with questions that you’re not even cracking any eggs.” 

He said, “You made the plans. I will establish your steps. I gave you a step. I gave you eggs. Just crack some eggs today. Tomorrow we’ll add another ingredient. The next day we’ll take another step towards the cake. But, for the love, just crack some eggs.”

So if all your plans and hopes and dreams are stressing you out, trust that the Lord is establishing your steps. Then take one step today. Just one step. And then take another step tomorrow. 

Just crack some eggs.
