“Who do you say I am?”

Seven or eight years ago I wanted to be a stand-up comedian.

So I did what you do when you wanna be a stand-up comedian. I wrote a 3-minute set and went to an open mic.

I walked into the bar and asked the bartender where to go for the open mic.

He said, “Oh you’re a comedian?”

And I said, “Yes.”

I owned it.

I had done the work and showed up and I was there so, yeah, that night I was a comedian.

And I wonder how often we fail to do this with the Lord.

We choose to follow Jesus and we show up and He says who we are…

…but we don’t own it.

He says we are

Powerful

Anointed

Chosen

Deeply loved

But we don’t believe Him.

I invite you to ask Him, “Who do you say I am?”

And when He says, “You are…”

Believe Him.

Own it.
